The building consists of a large hall for sports and play activities and capable of hosting charity fundraising events, along with ancillary store rooms, showers and changing facilities etc. In addition, the various administrative and fundraising functions of the camp are proposed to be relocated to the first floor, over the reception.
The practice’s earlier experiences gained at Riverview & Fitzwilliam LTC has been further developed here, with continuous high-level glazing designed in unison with the roof structure leading to a high-level of natural light.
Such considerations for the operational and running costs of the sports hall have been extended to the office accommodation: the plan form is a direct consequence of the desire to deliver naturally ventilated accommodation whilst maximising natural light.
