Planning approval was forthcoming from An Bord Pleanála for the construction of 3 large luxury detached dwellings, in the grounds of ‘Raford’, a modernist-style dwelling on a quiet cul-de-sac in Foxrock.
Each of the new houses will contain a substantial basement floor, which is designed to be as flexible as possible, and are afforded ample daylight through the provision of several landscaped light-wells and courtyard gardens.
The first of these new dwellings, extending to 5,000sq.ft., is now nearing completion. Many advanced features are utilised, particularly in the area of sustainability: an innovative and highly-insulating structure, high-efficiency heating systems and solar collectors, and coupled with the controlling of solar gain through the houses’ design and layout, ensures that a BER rating of A3 has been achieved.
