This €40.0m local centre development is proposed at a pivotal 'gateway' to Dun Laoghaire town centre. The scheme aims to enclose the wind-swept expanse of traffic-dominated public space to the south, and the creation of urban street frontages by building-out to the street edge. All car parking and servicing is positioned underground, with generous but sheltered pedestrian streets and a new public square created in the centre of the site, ensuring a lively and vibrant series of public spaces.
The 175,000sq.ft. development will provide a range of uses: retail units are primarily located at ground level in a wide variety of unit sizes, and anchored by 'SuperQuinn'; upper floors contain restaurants, a medical centre, a 68-bed residential care facility, flexible office units and 13 large apartments.
